Student Training and Exploration Program (STEP)
Connecting students on the Eastern Shore with career pathway experiences through monthly hands-on activities.
Thanks to Impact 100 Baldwin County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Gulf Coast and the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to provide students with a life-changing opportunity — and we need YOU.
What is STEP?
The Student Training and Exploration Program (STEP) connects students on the Eastern Shore with career pathway experiences through monthly hands-on activities. In partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the program now includes one-to-one, professionally supported mentorship to help students thrive.
This is a first-of-its-kind collaboration blending career exploration with evidence-based mentorship. With your help, students gain guidance, confidence, and connections that can shape their futures.
What You'll do as a Mentor:
-
Be matched with a local high school student for the school year
-
Meet monthly at STEP activities (4 hours/month)
-
Support your mentee’s growth through career exploration, conversation, and guidance
-
Receive training, support, and resources from BBBS staff
Commitment: 4 hours per month for one school year (2025–2026)
